The seaside town of Felixstowe sits within the county of Suffolk on the east coast of England. We are around 12 miles east from the county town of Ipswich, and approximately 90 miles north east of London.
By Train: Greater Anglia operate a regular hourly service from Ipswich throughout the day (around 30 minutes journey time) to the unmanned train station at Felixstowe At Ipswich you can join mainline services to London (Liverpool Street Station) and Norwich, plus routes west to Bury St. Edmunds, Cambridge and The Midlands/North of England. By Bus: FirstGroup operate frequent bus services on routes 75, 76, 76A, 77 and 77A between Ipswich and Felixstowe. By Car: Felixstowe lies at the end of the A14 which runs west to Cambridge and The Midlands, joining the M1 and M6. From Ipswich, the A12 heads south to meet the M25 at London. There are several car parks in the town which serve both the main shopping area and seafront. Felixstowe Rover Ticket - car park tickets are transferable between all the Suffolk Coastal District Council long-stay car parks in Felixstowe (Arwela Road, Brackenbury Fort, Clifflands, Convalescent Hill, Golf Road, Leisure Centre, Martello Park North, Martello Park South, Ranelagh and Sea Road). For example, buy a £2.00 all-day ticket in Ranelagh Road to do some shopping, then drive down to the seafront and park at any of the nine car parks for the rest of the day. Further details at
The Harwich Harbour Foot and Bicycle Ferry runs from the John Bradfield Viewing Area at Felixstowe to Harwich and Shotley. It is the only public ferry service connecting Suffolk and Essex. The vessel runs daily from April to the end of October. Weekends and school holidays only in November and December. Evening River Cruises run on Fridays and Saturdays from June to September.
