Safety first! Visit Felixstowe had a chat with the owner of our latest seaside attraction this week. 

The Big Wheel’s Paul Hedges of Paul Hedges & Sons Observation Attractions Company Ltd has a long association with Felixstowe and was delighted when planning for the 113 foot structure was finally agreed and the wheel started to take shape.  

Standing between Mannings Amusements and the prom on Felixstowe’s South Beach at the junction of Sea Road and Platters Road, the awesome structure will hold 144 passengers in 24 pods when fully loaded. Paul tells us that they are waiting on the all important safety checks and are hoping for a soft launch some time this week. In the meantime, those pods are getting a supreme clean in readiness to seat our excited residents and visitors. Paul also says the Big Wheel will be leaving us in October but hopes to bring it back in April next year for a longer 6 month summer run.
