After the resounding success of last September’s ‘Love Felixstowe Festival’, Felixstowe BID is collaborating with Felixstowe Chamber of Commerce, Litter Free Felixstowe, Felixstowe Town Council, Edible Felixstowe and numerous other partners to host a Green event during this year’s Love Felixstowe Festival 7th and 8th Sept 2024. Mark your calendars for this exciting weekend full of activities celebrating the best of Felixstowe.
Love Green Felixstowe is a collaboration between community groups, businesses and Felixstowe Town Council to promote eco-friendly practices. The aim is to create a greener town for generations to come by encouraging and inspiring residents & visitors to care for the environment.

There are so many ways to get involved! See our calendar of environmentally-conscious actions for each month of the year:
January: Veganuary – Commit to eating only plant-based food for the month to reduce your carbon footprint and explore new meal ideas while protecting animals.
February: Buy nothing new – Reduce the amount of new items you purchase and consider having items repaired instead. Keep an eye out for news on Cuppa’s repair café for more details.
March: Great British Spring Clean – Participate in cleaning up your community by picking up litter. Follow Litter Free Felixstowe on Facebook for year-round initiatives.
April 22nd: Earth Day– Dedicate April to Refill month, focusing on reducing single-use plastic and reusing containers you already have to support human and planetary health.
May: No Mow May– Let your lawn grow throughout the month to support grasses, flowers, and flying insects in your garden.
June: Bike Week and Clean Air Day – Leave your car at home and opt for biking to reduce air pollution while enjoying warmer weather.
July: Plastic Free July – Make an effort to reduce plastic consumption by purchasing loose fruits and vegetables and plastic-free alternatives.
August: Love Parks Week – Explore Felixstowe’s local parks or participate in National Allotments Week to enjoy the outdoors and gardening, promoting general health and well-being.
September: Secondhand September – Embrace donating, reusing, and restyling clothes from second-hand shops in Felixstowe.
October: International walk to school month– Encourage walking over driving to reduce air pollution and promote fitness and health.
November: National Tree Week – Celebrate trees by planting one or taking a walk through the Grove to see how many different species you can name. Woodland Trust do a ‘Free Trees for Schools and communities scheme application close date is normally August
December: Shop Local – Support Felixstowe’s local shops for Christmas shopping and year-round needs see the Visit Felixstowe website for more information.
