Seafront restaurant is back and better than ever

May 23, 2022

“… takes fine dining to a new level. The food was fantastic, and the steak was cooked perfectly. The cocktails were yummy, the staff are very polite and friendly and if we needed anything they were more than happy to help. The decor was amazing, and the restaurant has a really lovely feel to it. I would 100% recommend to family and friends and will be returning” Google review, May 2021.

AAB88F16 DBB9 4089 A5AF 0C44F59439BAPopular seafront restaurant Steak & Lobster is enjoying rave reviews after relaunching under new ownership. Priding itself on fine food, delicious cocktails and creating the perfect atmosphere for a great dining experience, Steak & Lobster is back and is better than ever.

Seeing the potential of the eatery, new owners Ed Thompson and Matt Taylor, with Kayleigh Betts as General Manager, kept the name, the concept, the chef and many of the waiting staff and opened the doors just before Christmas.

Innovations and idea such as ‘Steak & Date’ Thursdays (free prosecco, folks), or using the restaurant’s proximity to the local theatre, Spa Pavilion, to capitalise on pre-show dinner opportunity, the prom side eatery has made a very successful comeback.

You don’t have to dip very far into their well-documented reviews to notice that Sunday lunches have become rather legendary here and vie for the number one slot with their famous Surf & Turf, as you would expect, but there’s also plenty of children’s plates, as well as vegan and gluten free dishes when you have many different platters and tastes to please. Community focus extends into their locally sourced ingredients.

Ideally situated to entertain, a dedicated ‘party table’ with a screen that can be personalised with greetings or photos is an ideal birthday, small wedding, or corporate entertaining zone which blends neatly into the cool teal blue, vintage wood and wicker of the main restaurant. With two floors overlooking the sea, the whole dining area evokes a sleek and modern dining atmosphere with the trademark neon here and there to add a sense of occasion and sparkle.

Outside heating on the terrace for those slightly cooler evenings, and tables on the grass across the road for the summer make for a special daytime seaside dining experience.

An extensive bar menu, particularly the cocktails, which always seem to make a meal out a proper occasion.

“A sea front restaurant that does not rely on its location to provide a really good value lunch, dinner, or party: Kayleigh and her team are keen to look after you, be it a date night, lunch with family or a night out with friends, they have thought of everything.”
