Spring at the Spa

April 3, 2024

Over the coming weeks, Felixstowe’s award-winning, seafront Spa Pavilion Theatre has an immense line up – with West End stars, a family pantomime and some world class live music. With their new booking system working well (which allows freedom of choice for those who wish to remain seated and those who like to stand and dance, while ensuring that all can enjoy the show), there has never been a better time to take in some live music at one of the area’s loveliest theatres.

The Spa will be serving you some seaside rock, on Saturday 16th March, with the ultimate tribute to Tina Turner! Starring Julie Nevada, with her amazing band and dancers, ‘Tina Live’ is a full concert style stage show.

Saturday 23rd March sees the sensational show ‘Something About George’ make its very first visit to Felixstowe, for the final date of its hugely successful UK tour. This George Harrison tribute has been praised as “moving, poignant, with timeless classics that will have you singing throughout the night”. The glowing review from the opening night of the tour went on to say: “If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. A must see.”

On Thursday 28th March, grab your Coat of Many Colours, to see ‘Dreamcoat Stars’! Featuring four sensational singers from the global hit show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, this show promises an unforgettable evening of musical theatre.

“The biggest star you’ve never heard of” comes to The Spa on Saturday 30th March! This really will be something special – a one-off chance to catch an awe-inspiring guitarist (described as “one of Suffolk’s most renowned musicians”) – joined by special guests! Robbie Gladwell has been lead guitarist for Suzi Quatro, Steve Harley & The Cockney Rebel, and many other well-known bands.

Performing live at The Spa, Robbie and his band will play a barnstorming and eclectic mix of some of the best soul, rock and pop music from the last 50 years. Far from a tribute or covers band, the line-up will include a full brass section, percussion and singers – expect many of your favourite songs, many of which Robbie will have played on when they were first recorded!

Moving into April: On Saturday 6th, ‘Meat Loaf by Candlelight’ will pay tribute to Meat Loaf’s greatest hits, as you’ve never heard them before! This show boasts a live cast of West End singers, including stars of the West End production of ‘Bat Out of Hell’, accompanied by an incredible live rock band. With so much talent on stage, it won’t just be the candles “on fire”!

Making a splash in the Easter holidays, it’s ‘The Little Mermaid’, on Thursday 11th April! This bubbly pantomime features pop songs, magic and puppets, and is suitable for all ages. Why not combine a visit to the show with a sunny afternoon on the beach, only a few paces from The Spa?

The following day (Friday 12th April), ‘The Quo Experience’ will raise the roof, playing all your favourite hits, spanning five decades of Status Quo’s incredible music history. In the words of former Quo drummer, Matt Letley, this is: “An excellent show, really capturing the essence of the Quo I played with for 13 odd years – the attention to detail is awesome!”

Direct from London’s West End, ‘The Bowie Experience’ comes to Felixstowe on Saturday 20th April. This spectacular concert celebrates the sound and vision of David Bowie, featuring all the hits from A to Ziggy!

Finally, on Saturday 27th April, there’s a ‘Thriller’ of a show in store, with ‘Navi: King of Pop’. This

incredible production stars the world’s leading Michael Jackson tribute artist, Navi – joined on stage by MJ’s iconic guitarist, Jennifer Batten.
