Phil Veacock has been Jools Holland’s tenor saxophonist in his legendary Rhythm and Blues Orchestra for over thirty years and is joined by the distinctive sounds of Jim Watson’s organ playing and Nic France on drums
The list of stars Phil Veacock has arranged for and played with reads like a who’s who of the pop music business, from Paul McCartney to Barry White, Elvis Costello, Kylie Minogue and Paul Weller. He and as well as duetting with the stars, as an arranger he brings order to the freewheeling mayhem of their annual televised ‘Hootenanny.’ Versatile and virtuosic, steeped in the traditions of rhythm and blues, he is a huge fan of soul music, having worked with some of the greats such as Martha Reeves, Smokey Robinson, Booker T and Chaka Khan. He brings all his enthusiasm and vast experience to an evening of soul and R&B .
