Refugee Ukrainian Performance Artist Maria Proshkowska showcases practice in Felixstowe Suffolk

Join us at Hamilton MAS for Pier Projects eighth Studio Social and Open Studio, this time with artist Maria Proshkowska

Maria will introduce her practice focussing on her forthcoming commission at MAMbo, Bologna. A continuation of her performative practice, the work – with the provisional title ‘FARINA’ – explores the social and political significance of the city’s grain culture through repetitive movement and gesture and includes wheat grown in her home country, Ukraine. Maria Proshkowska works with performance, video, installation and photography. Born in Ukraine, due to the ongoing invasion, she is currently living in Ipswich.

Visit Hamilton MAS on Friday 28 July 6.30pm – 8pm for the artists talk and the opening of a studio showcase featuring recent film and a sand-based installation. There will also be an open studio Saturday 29 July and Sunday 30 July 11am – 4pm. This event is has been made possible with the support of Arts Council England.
